Alone: Season 9 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Johnny Loftus Decider Alone is refreshingly stark as reality shows go, with nothing external or overproduced to detract from or disturb the individual journeys of its participants, journeys that are full of challenges they must try and overcome all by their lonesome. Preston W It got so boring watching them kill over and over. They also need to tell them they have to dispatch them immediately. Animal torture isn't great television and Canada is pretty boring too. Spring for a better location. Also having someone with a clear mental illness was not cool. Feel like this show may have run its course. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/29/23 Full Review Nahat B As others have said, after the first half of the season full of shelter building and productive hunting, it becomes all about watching contestants starve. And listening to them reflect on their lives. I feel mildly guilty fast forwarding thru hunger induced epiphanies but enough already. Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/05/23 Full Review Kevin H the producers are cheapskates. They need to get the show the hell OUT of all of Canada's restrictions on hunting, trapping and fishing. To fund the extra expense of going back to Mongolia or Patagonia, they can use their show, yt channels and sites like this to ask viewers for a donation of $10 each. $10 is nothing, and if you get 1% of the 2 million viewers, that's 20,000 x $10. Many would give you more, so you dont really need the 1% ratio, actually. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/04/23 Full Review Catherine b I like the Alone series but after 9 seasons, seeing many different survivalist skills and unique problem solving techniques, I feel all that is left for me to get out of another season is to watch people starving. Watching someone slowly starving to the point of organ failure is all that is left for me and this is not entertainment it's very, very sad to watch this level of human suffering. I am sad to say I think this is enough for me. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/23/22 Full Review Audience Member This season is much more boring. How many squirrel and grouse killings do we have to see. We get the point. Shelter building and how they live in their shelters is much more enjoyable. This season is a broken record.
