In the past, Billy Gardell revealed during an interview the secret to his long-term marriage and what it had taught him. The comedian stated the most important lesson he had learned in marriage was to shut up. "I've learned you need to shut up when you're married," he said.

The "Young Sheldon" actor then explained that, in marriage, one is never right, and it is easier to take up tasks than ask someone else to do them.

The comedian and actor, whose parents divorced when he was young, revealed he lived with many stepfathers, and they moved around a lot, making him anxious. He discovered his sense of humor at home, which helped him control his anxiety and to fit in at school.

From there, he decided to pursue comedy as a profession. At first, his mother did not support his career choice; she wanted him to get a "proper" job at a warehouse. His father supported his idea and encouraged him to pursue his dreams.

Billy and His Wife Took Part in a Show Together

Billy and Patty Gardell once participated in the reality TV show "Long Island Medium." The show is hosted by Theresa Caputo, a purported psychic medium who uses her ability to communicate with the dead. Through her gift, Caputo has been able to impact people's lives.

On one of the show's episodes, fans watched Billy and his wife having an emotional talk with Caputo and getting validation from their departed relatives.

The Spouses Are Both Private & Keep Their Relationship out of the Public Eye

Bill and Patty Gardell have kept their relationship away from the spotlight for many years, probably explaining why they have a successful marriage. However, he once shared a photo of a cooking pan on a stove and wrote: "If your wife has one of these, you married an all-pro!"
