Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., on Sunday pushed congressional Republicans for a comprehensive deal on immigration after a bill was blocked earlier this year. Warren, a member of the national advisory board for President Joe Biden's reelection campaign, defended the president's patchwork of executive actions after she claimed Republicans caved to former President Donald Trump by blocking bipartisan legislation to beef up border security, among other things. "He can't deal with it if Congress and the Republicans continue to block him," she added when pressed on the spike in border apprehensions under Biden compared to those under Trump.

4th victim dies after grocery store mass shooting in Arkansas: Police
A fourth person has died on Saturday following a mass shooting at a grocery store in Arkansas, authorities said. Police responded to the shooting at the Mad Butcher grocery store in Fordyce, about 70 miles south of Little Rock, early afternoon on Friday, police said. Three civilians were killed at the shooting and eight civilians were hurt, police said.

Man arrested after allegedly attempting to drown kids at Connecticut beach: Police
Two children are recovering in a Connecticut Intensive Care Unit after police officers stopped their father from allegedly trying to drown them at a West Haven beach early Saturday morning, according to investigators. A West Haven Police Department patrol officer spotted an SUV parked at Dawson Avenue Beach around 2:30 a.m. and heard screaming from the water as the officer inspected the car, according to investigators. The officer encountered Romney Desronvil, 41, with two children in the water, the police said.

2 rescued after small plane crashes near Turks and Caicos
Two people have been rescued after a small plane that took off from Florida crash-landed in the waters of the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean. The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force said shortly after noon on Saturday they received reports of an aircraft landing in water, approximately 10 miles off the island of Providenciales. Police sources told ABC News a search operation was launched and with help from the U.S. Coast Guard, both passengers were rescued on Saturday afternoon and taken to a local hospital.

1 dead, 7 wounded following shooting at Louisville nightclub: Police
Investigators in Louisville, Kentucky, said they are looking for a suspect and clues in a mass shooting at a nightclub early Saturday morning that killed a man and wounded seven others. Officers received a call around 12:47 a.m. for shots fired outside the lounge H20 and first responders discovered a man with gunshot wounds when they arrived, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department. A second unidentified victim was rushed to University Hospital "with injuries that are believed to be critical and life-threatening," according to the LMPD.

Three men who were visiting a Florida beach drowned Friday night after they went out swimming in the Gulf Coast, according to police. The unidentified victims, who were only described as "young men" who lived in Alabama, came to Panama City Beach Friday afternoon and immediately went swimming, Bay County, Florida Sheriff Tommy Ford said. "I want to thank Bay County Emergency Services, the FWC, and the Coast Guard for their help in the rescue efforts."

Monday marks two years since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, ending the constitutional right to an abortion and allowing states to decide whether to restrict access to the procedure or not. As of Friday, 14 states have ceased nearly all abortion services and three states have enacted six-week bans, according to an ABC News tally. At least nine states have no restrictions based on how far along a woman is in her pregnancy and many have recently added amendments enshrining the right to abortion in their state constitutions.

A teenager now faces murder charges after a 7-year-old boy was fatally shot in the chest in a random act of gun violence in Chicago, police announced Friday. The victim, Jai'mani Amir Rivera, had just left his apartment and was on the sidewalk Tuesday afternoon when shots rang out, police said. A 16-year-old suspect has since been charged with four counts in connection with the shooting, including first-degree murder and first-degree murder for personally discharging a firearm that caused the death of the victim, Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling said Friday.

Three people were injured after multiple gunmen in a vehicle opened fire on a community center that was hosting a funeral reception in the Chicago suburbs, officials said. The shooting occurred around 3:30 p.m. local time Friday in the city of Blue Island, Illinois, located about 16 miles south of the Chicago Loop. The Salvation Army community center was being rented for a repast funeral service at the time, according to Blue Island City Administrator Tom Wogan.

A California jury has found David DePape guilty on all charges in the state trial over the hammer attack against Paul Pelosi, following his federal conviction for the 2022 assault, prosecutors said. The jury began deliberations Tuesday afternoon in San Francisco, with the court dark on Wednesday, before reaching a verdict Friday afternoon. DePape, 44, was charged with false imprisonment of an elder by violence or menace, residential burglary, threatening a family member of a public official, dissuading a witness by force or threat and aggravated kidnapping, which carries a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

The Republican National Committee is launching a nationwide recruitment effort for poll workers ahead of November's election as former President Donald Trump continues to spread doubts about election security. A housing assistance agency in one of the hottest regions in the country has found a sustainable way to provide relief from scorching temperatures. Two shipping containers that used to sit on the U.S.-Mexico border have been repurposed into cooling stations for residents in Tucson, Arizona, who may not have access to air conditioning – especially homeless communities, ABC Tucson affiliate KGUN reported. Dubbed 'COOLtainers' and located on northern Tucson's so-called 'Miracle Mile' commercial corridor, the air-conditioned stations are solar-powered.

Vitamix expands blender recalls due to laceration hazard
More than half a million Vitamix blenders have been recalled by the kitchen appliance company due to laceration hazards after dozens of injuries were reported. Two versions of the popular chef-quality high-speed blenders manufactured in Cleveland, Ohio, the Vitamix Ascent Series and Venturist Series with 8-ounce and 20-ounce blending containers and blade bases, were added to an existing recall by the company on Thursday in coordination with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). "The containers can separate from the blade base exposing the blades, posing a laceration hazard to consumers," the company said in the expanded recall notice.

Plane passengers give mid-air celebration to 5-year-old who missed graduation
A five-year-old who had to miss his kindergarten graduation received a surprise ceremony during a flight from Orlando, Florida, to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Xavier, in a red cap and gown, walked down the plane aisle after a flight attendant introduced him. "He was just beyond excited, like his face lit up," Xavier's mom, Janeiry Rivas, told "Good Morning America." "He was super super excited, getting high fives from people and getting cheered on."
