I get what you're saying; comedy in itself is a subversive expression, often non sequitur in nature. The problem with most of these comedians is that they just aren't funny because they lack creativity in articulation. The joke wasn't funny because the punchline was calling her a "b!tch". Nothing wrong with low-brow humor, but it's lazy and lacks story telling when you rely on degradation for laughs. It works for some comics, but not all.

A comedian’s job is to entertain, not to just say anything and expect the audience to eat it up.

Booing or jeering bad jokes is part of comedy and bombing helps them improve. Yesterday, he learned a valuable lesson about tailoring his set to the audience. You’re not going to tell the same jokes at a corporate event that you would at midnight downtown or at a church event.
